Flaky, all-butter golden pastry filled with a delicately spiced sweet filling, baked until crisp and aromatic.
Knead the flour, warm water, salt, and 2 tbsp oil into a soft dough and rest it under a bowl for 1 hour.
Fry the beef, onion, chilli, and cumin until the meat is cooked and the pan is dry, then cool.
Divide the dough into 8 balls and roll each into a paper-thin square on an oiled surface.
Spread a spoonful of filling on each square, brush the edges with egg, and fold into a sealed envelope.
Pan-fry in shallow oil over medium heat until golden and blistered on both sides.
Cut into wedges and serve hot.
