Flaky, all-butter golden pastry filled with a delicately spiced sweet filling, baked until crisp and aromatic.
Beat the cheese and eggs until smooth, then knead in the semolina, flour, and baking powder into a soft, non-sticky dough.
Roll the dough into small walnut-sized balls and flatten each slightly.
Bake at 180C for 20 to 25 minutes until lightly golden all over.
Meanwhile, boil the syrup sugar, water, and lemon juice for 15 minutes, then let it cool.
Drop the hot cookies into the cooled syrup, press briefly under the surface, and leave until they drink the syrup and soften.
Drain and serve in paper cups.
