An indulgent artisan dessert, beautifully crafted with premium ingredients and presented with exquisite garnishes for a memorable finale.
Melt the jaggery with 1/4 cup water and strain it into a bowl to remove grit.
Mix the rice flour, mashed plantain, grated coconut, sesame seeds, and cardamom powder, then add the warm jaggery syrup to form a thick, idli-like batter.
Cover and rest the batter 30 minutes so the rice flour hydrates.
Warm the ghee in an appam pan (unniyappam mold) over medium heat.
Pour batter into each mold and fry until deep golden, turning once so both sides cook evenly.
Drain the unniyappam on paper and serve warm or at room temperature.
