Ingredients

  • • 250 g 5% fat lean minced beef
  • • 1/2 a small red onion (peeled and finely diced)
  • • 1 tsp mild chilli powder
  • • 1 tsp garlic granules
  • • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • • 50 g reduced fat Cheddar cheese (coarsely grated)
  • • 25 g jalapenos (drained and chopped)
  • • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • • low-calorie cooking spray
  • • 4 reduced fat burger cheese slices
  • • 2 tomatoes (sliced)
  • • 1/2 small red onion (peeled and sliced)
  • • handful of iceberg leaves (shredded)
  • • 4 60g wholemeal rolls

Preparation Steps

1
Phase 1

Place all the burger ingredients apart from the spray in a mixing bowl and using your hands, mix, pressing and squeezing together to ensure thorough mixing.

2
Phase 2

Press firmly into 4 equally sized burger shapes, about 1cm thick.

3
Phase 3

Spray a large, non-stick frying pan with low calorie cooking spray and place over a medium to high heat. When the pan is hot, add the burgers and cook for 2-3 minutes before carefully flipping and cooking for a further 2-3 minutes.

Fill the rolls with the tomatoes, onions and lettuce and place a burger on top. Top with a cheese slice and enjoy!
