Northern Portugal's beloved vegetable pairing: tender turnip greens sautéed in garlic olive oil, crowned with crunchy toasted Portuguese cornbread crumbs (broa de milho).
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a wide skillet over medium heat. Add crumbled broa cornbread and half the minced garlic. Fry for 4-5 minutes, tossing constantly until golden, fragrant, and crunchy. Remove to a bowl.
In the same skillet, heat remaining olive oil and garlic. Add blanched turnip greens and sauté over medium-high heat for 4 minutes until greens absorb the garlic oil.
Season with sea salt. Transfer sautéed greens to a warm serving platter.
Shower the hot greens generously with the crispy golden broa crumbs and serve warm.
