Est. Time: 20-30 min  •  5 Preparation Steps

Chef's Menu Description

A traditional artisan bake offering a delicate, buttery crumb and golden exterior, served fresh with clotted cream, preserves, or rich salted butter.

Ingredients

  • • 200 g plain flour
  • • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • • 56 g flora light
  • • 6 tbsp granulated sweetener
  • • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • • 1 large egg
  • • 1.5 tsp orange extract
  • • 1 orange (zest only)
  • • 50 g dark chocolate chips

Preparation Steps

1
Phase 1

Preheat the oven to 180°c. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cinnamon and bicarbonate of soda. Rub in the flora light until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

2
Phase 2

Add the finely grated zest of one orange, orange extract, granulated sweetener and half of the chocolate chips and mix thoroughly. Mix in the egg to form a ball of dough.

3
Phase 3

Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Roll out to about 5mm and cut into 42 shapes (we used a 5cm star cutter). Place onto a baking tray lined with parchment and lightly spray with low calorie cooking spray.

4
Phase 4

Bake for 10 minutes until golden. Leave to cool.

5
Phase 5

Melt the remaining dark chocolate chips and once the biscuits are cool, drizzle over. Decorate however you like and serve!
